A skimmer pool is an artificial pool in which water circulation and filtration occur through a special device called a skimmer. It’s installed on the pool wall around 10–15 cm below the edge and collects the top water layer where debris, dust, and oils accumulate. After passing through the filter, clean water is returned via return jets placed along the pool walls.
This type of system is simple, energy-efficient, and cost-effective, making skimmer pools an ideal choice for private use in residential yards or vacation properties. As previously mentioned, the skimmer is a key component of a skimmer pool, responsible for drawing the surface water for filtration. It’s installed 10–20 cm below the edge, which slightly reduces the maximum water level. Unlike overflow systems that drain water from the entire perimeter, skimmers have a limited intake area, so the filtration is less intensive.
Still, the overall water cleaning principle remains the same: water passes through a filter and returns through circulation nozzles.
