How often should you change the water in a pool?

Many people think that keeping pool water clean requires draining it completely every year. This is a common — but false — myth! 😱

In fact, with proper and regular maintenance, the water in your polypropylene pool from Impools can last 3–5 years, or even longer! 💧

The secret to crystal-clear water is not in full replacement, but in proper care.

Your checklist for ideal water:

• Regular filtration. Your filtration system is the heart of the pool. It should run daily for a sufficient amount of time (on average 6–8 hours per day in summer) to filter the entire volume of water.
• Chemical balance. This is the most important point! Check and adjust the levels regularly (1–2 times per week):
  • pH (acidity): should be between 7.2–7.6. With correct pH, disinfectants work effectively, and the water doesn’t irritate skin or eyes.
  • Chlorine (or other disinfectant): keep it at the recommended level to eliminate bacteria and viruses.
• Mechanical cleaning. Don’t forget to remove debris (leaves, insects) with a skimmer, and clean the bottom and walls with a pool vacuum and brushes.
• Shock treatment. Occasionally, especially after heavy rain, a pool party, or water cloudiness, apply shock chlorination to quickly eliminate organic contaminants.
